Bobby Langin

Bobby Langin, 48. Lover of Christ, family, and anything with two wheels.
Bobby began racing motocross in the early 70’s and by the early 80’s created a mini-motocross playground in his backyard that became known as “Langtown” where an annual event occurred that was covered by magazines and television. Cross-training on bicycles is common among motocrossers consequently another hobby ensued.
In late 2006, mostly due to his son’s encouragement, Bobby got serious about the bicycles and started competing in cyclocross events. He attended the last three rounds of the 2006 Southern California Prestige cyclocross Series but Bobby was less than satisfied with his results (5th, 4th & 2nd respectively) and quickly consulted with Doctor Terry at CSI on training and recovery as well as obtaining the services of a local personal trainer who was well versed in cycling-training techniques.
Thanks to CSI and Doc Terry’s advice, not to mention training-injury repair therapy, Bobby enjoyed much improved 2007 results. Just a few short months after the 2006 season concluded Bobby began the Cal State Mountain Bike Series and at the conclusion of the seven-event series he finished 2nd in the 45-49 expert division missing the championship title by only a couple points.
A very short break followed the mtb season (a mere two weeks) and Bobby then started the So cal Prestige cyclocross Series. He won the first event of the season catching many of his competitors off-guard who had been handily beating Bobby in 2006. As the season progressed he won nearly every event he entered with the only blemish being a second place in event 3 in the 10-race series. He won the series title and then went on to win the SCNCA State Championships in Bakersfield.
For 2008 Langin intends to race the state mountain bike series again along with a few more national mountain bike events and then head into state cyclocross series. This along with a few road races will keep Bobby busy for 2008.
